2024-25 Strategic Initiative: Community Resource Library

Developing a Community Resource Library to Improve Student Success and Outcomes

ACCJC is excited to announce the launch of an important project to develop a comprehensive resource library designed to promote equitable student attainment. We believe that the diverse insights and experiences of our member institutions are essential to the success of this initiative, and we are reaching out to invite you to join us in this vital endeavor.

The project seeks to create a versatile and user-friendly resource library that will empower our membership to utilize best practices from across the globe to effectively address systemic inequities and promote equitable student success. By integrating evidence-based research, best practices, and real-world applications, the library aims to provide actionable insights and strategies that drive meaningful change.

As a member of ACCJC, your unique perspective and expertise are crucial in shaping the content and functionality of this resource library. We are looking for dedicated individuals who can contribute their knowledge, experiences, and passion for equity to ensure the library’s adoption and use by our members and, thereby, foster increased student success.

Call to Action: Forming a Community Resource Library Team and Developing a Resource Library to Improve Student Success

We are eager to have you join us in this transformative project. If you are interested in participating, there are two ways in which you can lend your support to this project.

  1. Any member from the field may forward prospective items that may be included in the Resource Library by completing the Community Resource Library Form. Within the form, there will be an opportunity to provide additional information and context, note citations or any credit that should be given to the source of the resource, etc.

  1. Members interested in the development of the Resource Library may also self-nominate to participate on the development team by completing a brief interest survey. You will be asked to provide contact information, note your role at your institution, and briefly (3-5 sentences) describe your interest in the project. This commitment will require synchronous engagement. For those interested in participating over the summer, please submit your survey by Friday, July 12.

Vice President Nickawanna Shaw will follow up with those who complete the survey to discuss further details on the project timeline, initial meetings, and collaboration tools to be used. If you have any questions, would like to discuss a prospective resource, or require additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out at nshaw@accjc.org. Progress updates and additional opportunities for engagement will be made available on this webpage. We look forward to collaborating with you to advance equity and social justice through this important initiative.
